A temporary "lightrail" service was introduced by the Dutch Railways in the new-town of Houten, south of Utrecht in 2002. It wasn't possible to serve the station Houten Castelium by regular trains due to time table restrictions. The car is rented from The Hague and started its life in Hamburg. As soon as four tracks are available between Houten and Utrecht regular train service will be introduced.
